You should look elsewhere if you need licenses for multiple computers, as Carbonite Safe's Basic, Plus, and Prime plans require you to pay the full subscription price for each additional computer. Acronis True Image bundles an in-house security suite with its subscription plans, too. A dedicated antivirus solution, complete with ransomware protection, is another way you can help protect your devices and data, so this adds significant value to Carbonite Safe's Plus and Prime plans. Both IDrive (one free per year and $59.95 for every additional request) and Backblaze (free, if you return the drive) offer similar disaster recovery services, but do not charge nearly as much for that option at equivalent tiers of service.īoth the Plus and Prime plan include a one-device subscription to Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus (owned by Carbonite's parent company OpenText), which PCMag's Lead Security Analyst Neil Rubenking rated 4.5 stars when he reviewed it in 2018.
