IDrive and Livedrive are among those online backup services that offer mobile apps.
#HOW MUCH DOES CARBONITE COST TRIAL#
Carbonite offers a free 15-day trial (with no credit card needed) of its plans, but there's no permanent, low-storage free plan like those of IDrive or OpenDrive, both of which have free 5GB plans.Ĭarbonite has apps for Windows and macOS computers, but it no longer offers mobile apps. Backblaze’s unlimited storage plan for a single computer is similar to Carbonite Safe’s, but costs less, at $60 per year.
Each 100GB storage increment adds $100 per year to the cost.Ĭovering only one PC for the base price is not uncommon, but IDrive offers 2TB of combined storage for as many computers and mobile devices as you like for about the same price ($69.95 per year). Carbonite’s Safe Core subscription level ($287.99 per year) supports up to 25 computers, but includes only 250GB of space.
#HOW MUCH DOES CARBONITE COST FULL#
You should look elsewhere if you need licenses for multiple computers, as Carbonite Safe's Basic, Plus, and Prime plans require you to pay the full subscription price for each additional computer. Acronis True Image bundles an in-house security suite with its subscription plans, too. A dedicated antivirus solution, complete with ransomware protection, is another way you can help protect your devices and data, so this adds significant value to Carbonite Safe's Plus and Prime plans. Both IDrive (one free per year and $59.95 for every additional request) and Backblaze (free, if you return the drive) offer similar disaster recovery services, but do not charge nearly as much for that option at equivalent tiers of service.īoth the Plus and Prime plan include a one-device subscription to Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus (owned by Carbonite's parent company OpenText), which PCMag's Lead Security Analyst Neil Rubenking rated 4.5 stars when he reviewed it in 2018. There are additional fees for not returning cords or drives. For Basic and Plus users, a courier service request costs $99.99, which includes expedited shipping. For Prime customers, the courier service costs $9.99, with the option to add expedited shipping for $19.99. This is important for when your hard drive is destroyed or if you don't have the time or bandwidth to download hundreds of gigabytes of restored files. The Prime plan ($149.99) reduces the cost of the courier recovery service, in which Carbonite ships you a copy of your data on an external drive.
